Simple holiday makeup tips

The holiday season is here, bringing a whirlwind of gatherings, photos, and (let’s be honest) those moments when you’re rushing to get ready.

If you’re like me, you want a makeup look that feels festive, effortless, and quick to pull together.

Here are a few simple combos that work for every holiday moment, whether it’s a cozy family dinner or a fancy night out:

1. Bold Lip + Simple Eye

A classic red or berry lip instantly elevates any look. Pair it with a soft, neutral eye and lots of mascara. Here’s how:

• Use a wash of taupe or champagne shadow over the lid.

• Line your upper lash lightly (brown or black works depending on your vibe), smudge it for softness, and finish with your favorite mascara.

• For lips, go bold! One favorite of mine is Deep Talks by Kosas. Pro tip: exfoliate and prep lips with balm beforehand for a smooth finish.

2. Bold Eye + Nude Lip

Think smoky, metallic lids balanced with a barely-there lip. Here’s the breakdown:

• Choose a metallic jewel-toned shade like plum or bronze. Apply it across the lid and blend out the edges for a soft finish. I love RMS Eyelights for this.

• Add liner to define the lash line and lots of mascara (or even false lashes!).

• Keep lips subtle with a nude or pink gloss that complements your skin tone.

3. Angelic Glow

This one’s all about soft shimmer and radiance—perfect for candlelit dinners or daytime sparkle.

• Swipe a shimmering champagne, pink, or pale gold shadow on your lids and inner corners.

• Highlight cheekbones, brow bones, and the bridge of your nose with a cream or powder highlight. RMS Living Luminizer is my go-to!

• Finish with a gloss or shimmery lip in a peach or pink tone for a soft, angelic vibe.

4. Blush-Forward Look

Make your cheeks the star for a fresh and youthful look.

• Use a cream or powder blush with a bright pop of color (rosy pinks or warm peaches are great).

• Blend it over the apples of your cheeks and slightly across the bridge of your nose for a sun-kissed effect. I love Sweed Air Blush when going for a velvet finish.

• Pair with a soft, sheer lip and minimal eye makeup—maybe a sweep of highlighter.

No matter which look you go for, remember: the best makeup is the one that makes you feel good.
